Bond’s Best: A Tasty Scent From Loewe

Loewe Perfume Luxury Bond's Best

Loewe has enlisted in-house nose Núria Cruelles to put a fresh spin on the current gourmand fragrance trend. Drawing inspiration from comforting pantry ingredients, the perfumer delivers a sophisticated take on classic vanilla, adding an unexpected, delicious twist.

Forming part of the recently launched Loewe Crafted Collection, which also includes Iris Root and Bittersweet Oud, the aptly named Roasted Vanilla, £365, comes across as toasty rather than sugary sweet. Base and top notes of pink pepper and cognac, deepened with a hint of smoky oakwood, soon see to that.

The carefully considered bottle, described by Loewe as a sculptural flask, is inspired by traditional handblown glass. Look a little deeper into its surface, and you'll see air bubbles, ripples and other tiny imperfections. Its pale grey cap, crafted from granite, gives a further nod to Spanish artisan heritage while the concealed magnetic clasp feels rather satisfying to close.

And with the foodie fragrance trend showing no signs of slowing down, remember: this is comfort sniffing, not comfort snacking, no matter how tasty you think your shirt sleeve smells.
