Cast your mind back to the start of the year, when the autumn/winter 2025 shows brought drama, craftsmanship and a string of viral moments. Tracee Ellis Ross returned to the runway for Marni. Sarah Burton made her debut at Givenchy. Fendi marked a century of design. There was even a spaghetti clutch at Moschino. Yum! But beyond the headlines, the collections signalled a new direction for our transitional wardrobes, ushering in statement silhouettes, a refreshed approach to colour and brand-new styling cues.
In true Devil Wears Prada fashion, the runway’s influence is already filtering onto the shop floor. Cerulean may be out, but “transformative teal” is very much in. Here, we chart the season’s most covetable trends – from New York to Milan to Paris – and where to shop them now on Bond Street.
Second skin
After a year dominated by leopard print, the fashion world is shedding its spots for something a little sleeker. With 2025 marking the Year of the Snake, designers embraced all things serpentine. At Marni, models slinked down the runway in snakeskin pumps. Zimmermann gave the reptile a bohemian makeover with chic chiffon dresses. Meanwhile, Valentino took the print and covered it in sequins. What’s not to love?
McQueen’s T-bar hip belt or sleek snakeskin mules are the perfect way to weave the trend into your wardrobe. Pair with black denim and a simple tee for an effortless (yet impactful) look.
The new neutral
A black leather jacket may be a perennial favourite. But this year the timeless staple takes on a sweeter appearance. We’re talking chocolate, chestnut, mocha; supple leathers in deliciously rich hues. It’s refined, classic and fresh. Chloé’s glossy espresso trousers also made a strong case on the runway.
Looking to recreate the look? Ralph Lauren’s high-rise lambskin trousers in dark hickory tick every box. Meanwhile, Loewe’s Flamenco hoodie in brown nappa leather brings instant cool to every outfit. Accessories aren’t immune to the trend either. Loro Piana’s Raquel hat in soft brown leather adds a final layer of elegance and taste.
All eyes on blue
This season’s palette runs bold. Designers revelled in dopamine brights, with one shade emerging as the clear frontrunner. Dubbed “transformative teal” by WGSN and Coloro, and awarded colour of the year for 2026, this blue-and-green blend surged through the collections. JW Anderson, Bottega Veneta, Stella McCartney and Jil Sander all dipped their toes in the ocean of blue hues.
For outerwear that will brighten even the gloomiest of winter days, Akris’s river green cashmere jacket is a refined choice. Or for those who prefer a more neutral wardrobe, Loro Piana’s ink bottle Thea blouse, paired with the coordinating Sam trousers and Milano blazer is a quietly powerful take on head-to-toe blue.
Buckle up
Gone are the days when a belt’s function was purely practical. This season, it’s all about making a statement. From triple-buckle corset belts at Schiaparelli to multi-layered styles at Isabel Marant and Schiaparelli, designers turned the humble accessory into a focal point.
The best pieces strike a balance between form and drama. Look to the Hermès Lucky 15 reversible belt for timeless appeal, or a Jill Sanders chain belt for a contemporary take. Or even better, draw inspiration from the runway, and wear both. Whether slung over coats or wrapped around tailoring, this season belts demand to be seen.
Back to the 00s
From baby tees to baguette bags, the Y2K revival has held fashion’s attention for several seasons, but one silhouette has lingered in the background. Until now. Razor-sharp skinny trousers made a confident return on the A/W25-26 runways. At Victoria Beckham, they were clean-cut and minimal; at Tom Ford, low-slung and rendered in sculpted leather.
Channel the look with Chloé’s straight low-rise trousers; sleek, simple and right on trend.
Say it with your shirt
From subversive statements to playful winks, bold lettering was spotted across the runways, adding a dash of attitude to even the most refined ensembles.
Stella McCartney’s “Mother F***er” tank brings unapologetic energy, while Valentino’s “Chez Valentino” tee is all about playful charm. Style yours with sharp tailoring or tucked into vintage denim. It’s the conversation starter your wardrobe’s been waiting for.
