Even the most loyal cat lovers will find The Connaught’s latest twist on its iconic hound cake hard to resist. This cute, limited-edition dachshund is the result of a canine collaboration between the celebrated hotel and Goodwoof, the annual celebration of dogs held at the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex.
The storied Mayfair hotel has long been known for warmly welcoming waggy-tailed guests and their owners and this new collaboration with Goodwoof is the first of many to focus on a shared passion for pooches.
The latest Paw-tisserie celebrates Goodwoof’s chosen breed for 2025: the loveable dachshund, with 10 per cent of proceeds going to Goodwoof’s charity partner, the Wild at Heart Foundation, an organisation focused on improving the lives of stray dogs globally.
Master pâtissier Nicolas Rouzaud and his team are behind the new dachshund creation, which features a Gianduja milk chocolate mousse atop an orange pain de Gênes sponge, finished with Hukambi milk chocolate spray and an orange-vanilla chocolate glaze.
You’ll have to be quick if you want to get your paws on one as the whimsical petit gâteau will only be available to purchase from Nicolas Rouzaud at The Connaught this month. So put your best dog-walking shoes on, put your beloved pooch on a Burberry check lead and make tracks to Carlos Place, before it's too late.
The Dachshund cake, £17, is available to purchase at Nicolas Rouzaud at The Connaught from 6-31 May 2025.
