As the days shorten, Bond Street’s dining scene offers two irresistible ways to hold onto summer.
Amazónico London invites diners to embrace the turn of the season with a new menu celebrating the vibrant flavours and cultural diversity of the Amazon region. The restaurant concept, created by husband-and-wife team Sandro Silva and Marta Seco, has captivated cities from Madrid to Monte-Carlo with its immersive approach to dining.
Designed by artist Lázaro Rosa-Violan, the space hums with the same buzz of the rainforest. Towering palm trees, rich woods and earthy terracotta whisk you far away from September’s chill and straight into the tropics.
This autumn, the menu brings together vibrant plates such as the ensalada Amazónica with mango, avocado and calamansi citrus. From the grill, broccoli with baby carrots and spicy panela sits alongside sweetcorn glazed with panca chilli butter, while larger plates span Brazilian-style chicken skewers, chimichurri-marinated steak, grilled lamb rump and salmon maki with feta cream cheese and cucumber. To finish, the extra fun Guineo dessert reimagines the banana split with Amazónico flair. Each plate pays homage not only to the culinary heritage of Brazil, Peru and Colombia, but also to the Japanese, Chinese and Indian influences that have shaped the region’s gastronomy. Cocktails spotlight cachaça and tropical fruits in unexpected combinations, evolving with the seasons.
A short stroll away, Il Gattopardo channels the effortless glamour of the Italian Riviera with its Il Pranzo lunch menu, served every Saturday and Sunday. The airy, sunlit dining room brings la dolce vita to diners, starting with antipasti to share. Treccia braided mozzarella with marinated heirloom tomatoes and herb pesto arrives with pizzetta topped with fresh fior di latte, San Marzano tomato sauce and basil oil.
For the secondi, there’s mezzi rigatoni with aubergine, San Marzano tomato and salted ricotta, or tagliata grilled beef sirloin with Romano pepper, broccoletti and a rich beef and red wine reduction. To finish, the pasticceria selection includes a classic tiramisu with mascarpone cream and espresso, or freshly churned gelato mantecato served with all the best toppings.
This September, whether you’re craving a weekend in the tropics or a sun-drenched Italian escape, Bond Street’s dining promises that the summer holidays never have to end.
