The Bond Street Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2026

Mother's Day Gifting Shopping Luxury

The ancient poet and mystic Rumi once wrote: ‘We are born of love; love is our mother.’ Millennia have passed since Rumi’s heyday, but the love of a mother is one that transcends time. For those of us not blessed with Rumi’s talent and eloquence, a beautiful and thoughtfully chosen Mother’s Day gift will do the trick to celebrate Mum.

Mothering Sunday falls on 15 March 2026, giving you plenty of time to buy something unique, timeless and elegant to show your eternal gratitude. There’s simply no excuse for last-minute chocs and flowers, especially when Bond Street is your shopping destination of choice. Here, you’ll find our recommendations.

Jewellery

OK, jewellery won’t win you any points for originality, but fine jewellery isn’t just something pretty to look at. A well-crafted piece will last a lifetime and serve as a visual reminder of your love and gratitude. The Opera Tulle pendant (£3,000) from Buccellati does this with aplomb, while also showcasing the Italian jeweller’s skilled craftsmanship that draws on Renaissance style and techniques. For a more contemporary style, Tasaki’s “Petit” Balance Class earrings (£2,180) feature an Akoya pearl and diamond juxtaposed in delicate harmony. Boodles’ cherry blossom-inspired Blossom Triple rose gold diamond ring (£3,100) is a unique way to say it with flowers this Mother’s Day. And for something bold and chic that pays homage to Mayfair, Asprey’s Bond Street Wide Button cuffs (£950) have bags of vintage charm with a crocodile skin inlay and semi-precious cabochon stone clasp. Designed to wear alone or stacked with other cuffs, they certainly make a statement.

Watches

Time is the gift that all mothers really want. Time to herself; to have a long, hot bath or to go out for a coffee alone. Bliss! But in a more literal sense of the word, a designer timepiece will be equally appreciated. Grand Seiko’s “Pearl White Linen” Mechanical Automatic (£8,650) is both timeless and modern, with a dial that is inspired by white linen produced from a plant grown in Japan for centuries: hemp. Handcrafted by Japanese artisans, it’s an elegant choice for the fashion-forward mum. And, striking a balance between timepiece and objet d'art is Blancpain’s exquisite Ladybird Quantième Complet (£47,500). A real showstopper of a watch with its mother-of-pearl dial set with diamonds, Blancpain is also widely considered to be the oldest continuously operating watch brand in the world, making it a bold yet classic choice.

Bags

There’s no such thing as owning too many handbags. For the style-conscious mama, Delvaux’s Brilliant Mini (£4,950) is small but perfectly formed. And for the eternal glamourpuss there’s Italian brand Marina Rinaldi’s rhinestone bucket bag (£255) with a chain shoulder strap. A more practical number is Victoria Beckham’s Plié bag (£1,150). Versatile, spacious and a modern classic in the making, it’s ideal for the busy mum on the go. Speaking of which, we also love BOSS Womenswear’s recycled polyester tote (£139), which will hold all her essentials in style.

Thoughtful accessories

A treasured gift is ultimately one that has a bit of meaning behind it. If your mother is one who loves to keep up with correspondences (handwritten, naturally) then treat her to a Montblanc Meisterstück gold-coated Classique fountain pen (£920), with the option of having her name or initials engraved for an extra-special touch. Church’s Loop enamelled steel keyring (£250) is a clever, minimalist design that’s perfect for someone juggling a million things. And if Mum is a bit of a design buff, she’ll love the subtle but oh-so-stylish Paul Smith umbrella featuring the British designer’s signature stripe motif. Or how about the collectible, removable travel stickers by Rimowa (£6 each) – a great way to remind her of past adventures, or those to come.

Dining experiences

Some mums will always tell you that they don’t want a gift; that they have everything they could possibly want or need. And if that’s the case then why not take her out for a sensational meal instead? Brunch at Dovetail (within 1 Hotel on Berkeley Street) is an exceptionally decadent affair, offering everything from shakshuka and smoked salmon with scrambled eggs to caviar, steak tartare and spicy lobster rolls. Ham Yard Hotel’s superb afternoon tea, meanwhile, is priced at a very reasonable £45 per person and features a traditional mix of finger sandwiches, delicate cakes and pastries and, of course, scones, clotted cream and jam. But if Mum is quite the gourmand then take her to lunch at Somssi by Jihun Kim at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, London; an exclusive chef’s table tasting menu experience of elevated Korean dishes that will blow you both away.
