What defines an icon?
Rooted in the Ancient Greek eikōn, a likeness or symbol, an icon today expresses creativity, identity and meaning. Drawing on the heritage of the Roman High Jeweller, Bvlgari introduces the BVLGARI ICONS Minaudière collection, conceived by Creative Director of Leather Goods and Accessories Mary Katrantzou. The collection celebrates the Maison’s unmistakable aesthetic language and cultural symbolism through exquisitely crafted evening pieces.
Created in limited edition, each minaudière reflects Bvlgari’s unparalleled jewellery-making savoir-faire, blurring the boundary between precious jewel and functional accessory. Inspired by historic designs from the Bvlgari archive, each style is offered in two sizes — a minaudière and a miniature vanity — and reimagines the House’s five iconic motifs: Monete, Serpenti, Tubogas, Divas’ Dream and BVLGARI BVLGARI. Employing High Jewellery techniques including lost-wax casting, hand-enamelling and gemstone inlay, these objets d’art represent a new chapter for Bvlgari accessories — where heritage, innovation and craftsmanship converge.
Carrying Culture
What can you carry in a handbag so small it won’t hold a phone? Culture. The deliberately compact scale of the BVLGARI ICONS minaudières is a considered statement by Creative Director Mary Katrantzou, proposing the accessory as both a precious object and a vessel of meaning.
The debut campaign introduces five bespoke miniature books, each created to fit within the silhouette of a BVLGARI ICON minaudière. Authored by five remarkable women — Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Linda Evangelista, Kim Ji-won, Isabella Rossellini and Sumayya Vally — the volumes reflect personal perspectives on culture, wisdom and craft, each aligned with one of Bvlgari’s iconic motifs.
Exclusive to this limited-edition collection, the books transform the minaudière into an object that carries not only craftsmanship, but ideas. With the BVLGARI ICONS Minaudière Collection, the Roman High Jeweller unites design and storytelling, celebrating women as custodians of culture and knowledge.
