Bond's Best: Brunello Cucinelli Sunglasses

Fashion Summer

Elevate your seasonal look with classic summer eyewear in fresh new styles.

It has been a long time coming but at last the sun is shining and temperatures are on the rise again. Time to refresh your summer wardrobe with a few accessories – such as a chic new pair of sunnies.

Brunello Cucinelli, the luxury Italian fashion house based in the Umbrian idyll of Solomeo, marries superior craftsmanship and the latest technology in its new eponymous eyewear line. Launched in 2023, the eye-catching collection is part of a 10-year licensing agreement between the house and the Italian eyewear manufacturing behemoth, EssilorLuxottica.

Standout pieces include the aptly named Mr. Brunello sunglasses (£608), which follow on from the brand's Iconic Meridian line. Here, they get a seasonal update in the form of a lightweight acetate frame in a classic tortoiseshell design.

As for the finer details, there are double galvanic pins, inspired by the geometry of the brand's heraldic coat of arms, while temples are topped with laser-etched logos on the metal core. In addition to personalised hinges, the photochromatic crystal sun lenses provide that all-important UV protection on especially bright days.

Be Riviera-ready and pair with a colourful Brunello Cucinelli light cashmere knit slung over a crisp white shirt, arms tied loosely around the neck. Or simply take a cue from the dapper Dickie Greenleaf played by Jude Law in the 1999 film version of The Talented Mr Ripley and you simply can't go wrong.
