There are few home fragrances as instantly recognisable as a Diptyque candle. For 2026, the Diptyque Maison has given its signature piece a thoughtful refresh, keeping everything you know and love about their iconic candles, while making them even more beautiful and sustainable - carrying forward over sixty years of vision and expertise to protect the timeless character whilst carrying forward a fragrance experience that is renewable and poetic.
A fresh take on a classic
Over the decades, with its transparent glass vessel, white wax and black and white oval label with dancing letters, the classic candle has become one of the signature objects of the Maison. The design updates are subtle but impactful. The glass vessel has been gently refined to better catch the light, while the iconic oval label remains, now slightly sharper and more defined. The distinctive typeface of the letters remains intact, as do the dancing letters which playfully transforms the name of each scent into a game – a letter puzzle to be deciphered. It’s the same timeless aesthetic, just elevated.
Within a candle the wax is the vessel for scent, and is handled with the utmost care. Involving eight stages, with some still carried out by hand, the interaction of wax and perfume combine to create an experience that transports you to a moment of calm.
Expanding the herbarium of scents
Through its collection of scented candles, Diptyque captures nature’s scents in wax. Candle after candle, the Maison is growing its herbarium of scents, a unique palette of over fifty fragrances. This year, the fragrances expand to include five new scents, imagined from five remarkable primary materials, creating five unprecedented expressions in candle form.
Become enveloped in the scent of freshly ground coffee beans, with notes of light wood - roasted, warm and rounded - with the Café (Coffee) candle. Seeking something fresh and green? Ortie - otherwise known as nettle - exudes an enigmatic power counterbalanced by gentle notes from the underbush. Sésame Noir (Black Sesame) offers a roasted note against a backdrop of precious wood, indulgent and intense. The fruity acidity of rhubarb stalks creates a vibrant and bittersweet scent in the Rhubarbe (Rhubarb) candle. Aromatic with a hint of spice, Shiso elevates this natural ingredient to invoke a complex scent full of freshness, spice and delicate almond.
Designed to last
Right from the outset, Diptyque has always envisaged a second life for the vessel that houses its scented candles. Once the candle is finished, the vessel can be repurposed as a vase, a pencil pot or even a trinket bowl. Now, new for 2026 and coming in autumn the classic candle will emerge as a lasting object. Ten emblematic frangrances from the herbarium of scents will be available as refills so you can reuse your vessel again and again. It’s a simple way to reduce waste—without compromising on luxury.
The finishing touch
To complete the experience, Diptyque has also introduced a collection of elegant accessories, from sculptural lids to glass holders - designed to make your candle ritual feel even more unique and luxurious.
