Christmas has officially arrived
On Wednesday 12 November we officially welcomed Christmas to Bond Street! Friends, family and fellow Londoners gathered to countdown and witness the magical moment when Bond Street transformed into a shimmering festive wonderland as our Crown Jewel light display was lit once more. The evening also marked the return of a cherished festive tradition, the Ralph Lauren Giving Tree for Bond Street in aid of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and you are now able to dedicate a star ornament to someone special throughout the festive season.
A festive evening
’Twas the season to be jolly on Bond Street as an evening of late-night shopping, festive tipples, and indulgence lay ahead.
Visitors strolled under the lights towards Diptyque and warmed up with a hot drink and discovered the Sapin collection, a great excuse to get ahead with Christmas shopping. A short walk away, Breitling offered the classic festive tipple of mulled wine alongside mince pies, the epitome of Christmas.
Those with a sweet tooth visited Charbonnel et Walker at the Royal Arcade to sample their delicious Dark Chocolate drinking chocolate, warming them up and immediately getting them into the festive spirit. Visitors treated their loved ones to delicious and beautifully presented delectable classic chocolate boxes and gorgeously festive Christmas range.
For a break, customers enjoyed Italian festive tradition Il Panettone, a celebration that brought joy to every table at Il Gattopardo. With the welcoming of the festive season, guests sat beneath the Mayfair sky for L’Aperitivo, with signature cocktails from £11 and complimentary Italian bites. The festive magic was rounded off with a slice of artisanal panettone served with Mascarpone and chocolate sauce - indulgent and delicious.
For fashion fans, Bond Street had all of their luxury shopping needs covered. Church’s offered sparkling glasses of Champagne and amongst their beautifully crafted leather shoes - the perfect gift to slip under the tree for someone special. Max Mara stayed open late for shoppers, with waiters offering Champagne to guests on arrival, who shopped the latest wool coats, tailoring, and more to upgrade their wardrobes for the season. For those that fancied more fizz, Giorgio Armani popped open bottles for visitors to sip and shop throughout the evening. And Chloé kept the bubbles flowing with Champagne offered to all customers. At Saint Laurent, guests were treated to a glass of Champagne whilst browsing the house’s iconic designs, the epitome of Parisian sophistication on Bond Street. Finally, on Brooke Street, JOSEPH invited guests to enjoy complimentary Champagne and the chance to win a pair of JOSEPH earrings, a delightful treat.
Montblanc is celebrating the enduring art of letter writing this festive season. They showcased the limited edition Happy Holidays Set, with only 100 pieces available worldwide, exclusively at the New Bond Street boutique. Serving Champagne throughout the evening, guests browsed the Happy Holidays Capsule Collection, including a pen pouch, crossbody bag, and more - perfect for picking up a present for a loved one.
For watch lovers, luxury watchmaker Blancpain invited guests to sip on their house Champagne and tuck into little morsels of sweetness, Pierre Hermé macarons, whilst browsing their selection of handcrafted timepieces during their late-night shopping event until 7 pm. IWC Schaffhausen warmly welcomed visitors to their boutique to toast the season in style, with festive drinks and artisanal mince pies offered throughout the evening’s festivities. For some added festive cheer, guests received free engraving on all purchases to make their gifts extra special that year.
MCM on Conduit Street offered warming drinks in partnership with Dirtea - guests enjoyed signature drinks including Matcha, Cacao, coffees and festive drinks from 4-8pm, whilst shopping a selection of leather goods and fashion pieces, perfect for treating yourself or gifting a loved one.
Visitors ended their evening at Brown's Hotel as it kick started the festive season, welcoming guests to sit back and relax in the most luxurious of settings.
In the neighbourhood
Whilst nearby an enchanting evening at Piccadilly Arcade was had by all. Guests made the most of late-night shopping and discovered masterfully crafted, one-of-a-kind gifts whilst enjoying live music from a gospel choir and jazz performer, seasonal cocktails and warming mulled wine were sipped and delicious canapés were sampled, with festive surprises such as bauble calligraphy and in-store treats were enjoyed.
While across the way at Burlington Arcade, a private party was held to mark the start of the season in style. Guests sipped champagne and danced to festive tunes mixed from within a giant disco ball DJ booth. A place to see and be seen - Mayfair style, with more than a touch of glamour and a very good time!
Also shining bright this festive season, Savile Row's Christmas lights dazzled overhead. See the ribbons and tailoring scissors shining on high. Inspired by the street’s heritage, celebrating the artistry, craftsmanship, and timeless style that defines this world-renowned street.
It was an evening to remember, as the sparkling Crown Jewels cast their glow over those making cherished memories on Bond Street. The festive season is official here so step into the magic of Christmas, on your favourite street, at the most wonderful time of the year!
